Stefano, it would help if you could add details about the circumstances
this problem is triggering. The fix prevents initializing platform_pci
if not a Xen guest, so I assume this would be the case for running a
kernel in dom0. But I seem unable to see a crash when doing so.

The behaviour should indeed be that chromeless app do run independantly
of the usual "flow" of chromium (no restore).
Can you specify a way to repro it? I tried w/o success, by opening a
couple of chromeless webapps, closing them, and opening a regular

After loading the module I was able to start my guest:
$ sudo modprobe kvm_intel
The main question is why this did not occur automatically after
rebooting (after I upgraded to the -proposed version of qemu-kvm)?

I just upgraded a server from 11.10 to 12.04 and I got a gnome-keyring
error [1] when trying to start a guest. There is some other bug about
it and strangely a workaround was to install the 'gnome-keyring'
package. I did so in haste and the majority of the error remains, even
after upgrading qemu

Please find attached my patch for this bug. I have basically redefined
the old _on_cursor_changed into a new method, _cursor_changed_event, and
used it inside _on_row_activated. This seems to work nicely, for no

go-mtpfs works excellently for me by manually mounting. It seems to
implement the mtp spec properly. Surely it wouldn't be difficult to just
use that for mtp mounting rather than libmtp?

Such automated scripts should be smarter. Recent comments and (script
readable) apport informations clearly indicate that this bug still
exists in 12.04 LTS.
Please undo status "Won't Fix" and nominate or tag it for 12.04 or
whatever to mute further simple scripts.
