I fixed problem by adding this line to my /etc/init/ modem-manager.conf
:
stop on runlevel[0]

I tried adding the Keywords= line to the .desktop file and changing
the Description line in the control file - neither appears to work in
the Ubuntu Software Center search. Apparently to fix this bug I'll have

No way to specify correct dependencies for dkms packages
My system was using the proprietary Nvidia driver prior to the upgrade to
12.10, and after the upgrade continued to use the proprietary driver.
I switched to the open source nouveau driver, and so far, I have not seen the

I installed kernel 3.7rc7 and I downloaded fglrx 12.10 from the amd website.
I used this patch, http://catalyst.apocalypsus.net/files/arch-fglrx-3.7.patch,
to patch it for the 3.7 kernel.
Also version.h from the kernel needs to be symlinked to a different location
(otherwise building dkms module

I'm currently troubleshooting a problem with a Lubuntu Quantal setup
with LTSP (terminal server network).
Most of the clients stop responding at a blank/black screen during
bootup. But only after successfully PXE network booting, getting DHCP
assignments, and beginning the process of booting

I can confirm a very similar behaviour in my system. After upgrading
from 12.04 to 12.10 I started to experiment some non random mouse
freezes, in my case if I lift up the mouse from table and keep it for 2
seconds when I put it back on table it stops working (no cursor
movement, no buttons

It also affects me, the same way as described, only with *.desktop
files.
Ubuntu 12.10 64-bits.
Also using Gnome Shell from PPA, Nautilus 3.6.3.
I recall that the first time this happened I changed the size of the
icon in my desktop and this border disappeared, but this is not working
now.
