Occasional ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and Intel
I have seen this happen 3 times in the last 2 days since I installed
12.04.1-desktop-amd64 on my core i5 p8z77-v pro. Kernel is
3.2.0-35-generic and everything was brought up to date via update

I will like to report that I tested Intel D815EEA2 mainboard with ATI Radeon
9800 Pro AGP graphics card with v3.7-rc7-raring version of the Linux kernel on
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32-bit, and after performing 7 resumes with Firefox running on
the background, I did not observe a single freeze
ONE scrolls to the bottom and clicks on the area that says To manage

As you say, apport-collect will not run because the entire root
filesystem is mounted read-only. I manually typed out the output of a
few key commands to provide more information, and can do it again if
necessary -- but since I can't cat anything to a file I am having to
hand write all
I started to experience this bug a few days ago, after I switched my
microphone from front to rear. (Ubuntu 12.04) I want to thank the OP for
the workaround, which so far is working perfectly.
