May I suggest: turn off onboard graphic from the BIOS. Then change the
quiet splash in grub to nomodeset. It resolved the issue with my
nvidia driver, otherwise I had unreadable screen on my desktop. Hope

system on a new blank ultrabook (Wortmann Terra Mobile 1450 II) in December

The crash is happening in dbusmenu_server_finalize() when the server
frees its lookup_cache hashtable of DbusmenuMenuitems. When the hash
table is freed, g_object_unref() is called on each of its values. This
crash indicates that one of the pointers in the lookup cache isn't a
GObject.

On a clean user like Guest, for some reason Qt Creator only detects Qt 4
and not Qt 5, if both are installed. If qt4-qmake is removed, Qt 5 is
automatically detected.
Symptoms of having the problem include:
- Not being able to Run QML projects
- Getting QML

Also hapenned to me when i upgraded my kernel in ubuntu 12.04 and now
with a fresh install on 12.10. Smart runs ok. But my question is, if
it's a general kernel problem, why there ins'y more people being
affected?

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1031511, so is being marked as such.
If this bug is indeed provoked by hard to reproduce/fix smb/gvfs/network
errors (was on lan btw), wouldn't it be the obvious way to fix it by
checking for a 0 byte file after 5 failed attempts, delete it and try
another 5 times?
