So far 2.6.32-47.109 seems OK. 5 days uptime and this hasn't happened
yet. I don't know what the change was that fixed it, but I also don't
have a lot of time for hunting it down.
I'm going to tentatively close this and hope that it stays fixed.

With kernel 3.8.0-21 I am able to adjust the screen bringhtness using
the Fn keys. There is a regression in kernel 3.8.0-22. When using the
latter I am unable to control screen brightness. Hardware is DELL XPS 13
and I running Ubuntu Linux 13.04 64 bit.
