I'm not sure if this is the same but but I now have 3 ipods shown in
Nautilus and when either Banshee or rhythnbox is started my Ipod is
shown as a network drive and the media player crashes.

I was confused with the print to file and cups-pdf. Turned out they
are not the same. I installed the cups-pdf, whcih works like a charm.
But this print to file does have a pdf output option but seems doing
nothing just fooling the user. As a default printer in Ubuntu, what's

quite slow to polulate the first time after login.

For me the problem vanished after I updated the proprietary nvidia
driver v304 to v310. I don't know what this has to do with i386
problems (at least it's a amd64 system) but since this update I got no
more problems with crashes.

I can concur with rgrig that under Kubuntu 13.04 booting with a 3.5
kernel rather than a 3.8 kernel solved the issue for me.
Also, as with rgrig, the other workarounds didn't work for the 3.8
kernel.

So the Mythtv-backend-setup icon option still hangs and you have to give
sudo command in terminal to launch backend setup.
However did get the backend to finally run at start up as well as get
the frontend to connect properly. Basically had to treat the install as
if it was totally manual. Purged
Perhaps it needs ClientAliveInterval because underlying connection
tracking in Azure breaks the connection otherwise? Just speculating
here.

I tried your sugestions but was not succesfull either!
1) I first removed grub-pc. A window pops up, asking me whether I wnat to
remove all grub files, I agreed.
sudo -s
apt-get --purge remove grub-pc
2)ThenI tried your original skript, with the changes in the for loop:
sudo -s
apt-get --purge
This hasn't been a problem in 13.04

Title:
Parts of the screen are black
sudo apt-get install --reinstall grub-pc solved the problem, thank you.
Not sure this should be marked as solved or not because anyone who uses the
official ISOs will face this problem.

Remove the current symlink:
~ $ sudo rm -f /sbin/mkfs.ntfs
Then create the correct link as described by Sam:
~ $ sudo ln -s /sbin/mkntfs /sbin/mkfs.ntfs

8.04 has reached end of life, and this was fixed long ago on the
thunderbird side. If you have another way to reproduce the crash in
dash on 12.04 or later, please update the description and change the
status back to new.

My system broke down completely two weeks ago due to a faulty and
failing PSU. I dont know whether that could be the cause of this bug,
but maybe.
