I tested the latest kernel 3.5.0-34-generic #55-Ubuntu (x86_64) from the
-proposed repository,
and I no longer get a kernel panic.
Specifically, I have been running 3.5.0-34-generic #55 for three hours
without problem.
I do get the following messages in 'dmesg' which (according to
Bit late, at most the verification-failed tag would have been
appropriate for 9.1.3-0ubuntu0.1. Because this is fixed with a new
upload to -proposed, so it no longer applies.
Anyway I did a piglit run, surprisingly here have been no regressions
except two on my nvd9 with nouveau. ati and intel
correction:

Has now occurred with acpi_pm, however there is no log entry for a CPU
hard lock. System became unresponsive for ~7 minutes. Testing with

[Hardy] Hight Quality Options does not fit ffmpeg version
To manage
I am unable to verify if the kernel posted above fixes the display
issue. The system cannot resume from suspend properly, it halts, no
mouse/keyboard functionality and cannot switch tty. Plugging in external
display does nothing. System is completely unresponsive.

discards the profile and shows the image with wrong colors. I have
noticed this in two occasions.
