Today I tried this again with the same non-synchronizing e-mails with
'Dovecot' instead of 'Courier' as the IMAP-server in TB 17.0.6

Ideally, there's a way to specify different statuses for different
releases/versions of the package,
but I don't know if that's possible.
This is possible by nominating the bug for series. According to the
previous comments, this bug is fixed in Ubuntu 12.10,
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

This works! Ubuntu with kernel 3.9.6. Thanks kendatsuba for the patch
and G.Scoppino for the compile instructions.
I did however get a error when running make install. Seems for me that
everything works, but I do feel that I have a more unprecise movement of
the pointer when I am moving slowly.
I'm also interested in this Problem - it would make owncloud much more
usable for me... :(

I just reproduced this on my core-i7 x86-64 with the targus USB stick
since it has a serial port to do console.
Unfortunately the oops dump is not helpful - it says it oops in metacity.
Perhaps this is why it's so difficult to debug...

This is Gentoo built, Linux-3.9.2 (from kernel.org):
This doesn't seem very helpful for me, all it's pointing to is some
massive kernel table corruption.
Note that using serial console, the machine still was able to respond to
the console but no other i/o was accessable. Every new I/O attempt
