Comment 50 worked for me. I have Logitech K800 keyboard and M510 mouse,
both use the Unified Wireless Receiver (USB) and on boot (on Mint 15)
they would never load, I had to unplug and plug the receiver in before
they would work. commenting out usbmouse and usbkbd worked for me.

Found it. The service leaks DBusmenuItems (user_menuitem_new) like
crazy. Each of those connects to the 'notify' signal of a dbus proxy.
GLib then uses 100% CPU to dispatch a notify event to all these
listeners.

We used to have this kind of bug reported all the time. It's quite
possible there's a performance regression in Unity.
Please try regular X and report if it's any better. To do that, you need
to remove type=unity from /etc/lightdm/* and /etc/lightdm/*/*. Then
