using audio with home dir mounted from network.

This is most probably caused by an ABI change in QPDF 4.1.x. Perhaps a
simply no-change rebuild of cups-filters could help, but we will see how
the problem will get solved at Debian and sync the solution into Ubuntu.

Unfortunately its a still problem in Ubuntu 13.04. All those talks on
the internet regarding that Ubuntu devs are ignorant of bug reports look
to have some grounds.
Anyway,
the finer solution to the problem is changing the nsswitch.conf as follows:
hosts: files mdns4_minimal
People affected by this might want to look at using redsocks and
iptables to set up a transparent system proxy configuration. I have
done that and am more and more convinced that that is the way to go,
rather than making individual applications do proxy support.

If overlay scrollbar is enabled, the background turns to black at some
places, causing text to be unreadable due to dark text on black
background.

I strongly recommend Canonical to maintain their own version (fork) of
3.4 (maybe with the SolusOS patch). I think Nautilus 3.4 is a mature
software already.
