OK, so after staring at the code for a few hours, I found the bug.
The crash is line 371 of /drivers/rilmodem/network-registration.c, which
is the function 'ril_register_cb()':

My macbook pro 8.1 13-inch really has 3 speakers: left, right and so called (by
Apple) subwoofer - standalone additional speaker, which is located on the
