Upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10 and lost my audio. I am using nvidia HDMI.
I tried the workaround referenced above with no luck. I tried a bunch
of different nvidia drivers with no luck. Everything in the GUIs looks
fine but no sound emits. This set up was working fine in 13.04. Not
sure if this
Time-based locking is unlikely to ever work correctly with X11; see also
bug 49579.
If having your session locked when you are away is important to you, you
should be locking your session manually before leaving.

jtaylor points out on IRC that fixing the syntax with 2to3 is
insufficient to make this actually work.
Test case:

$ cd / && sudo patch -p0 < /tmp/python-gdb.patch

I had started a branch to support twitpic but after a few days of
struggling with oauth I gave up on it. No changes to friends-app were
ever made to display images in a nicer way. Feel free to take a stab at
this if you want to.
