1. the font looks bad always when I enable vesa driver, even from live cd
2. 13.10 boots into failsafe X on my machine, but 14.04 alpha
The 'text' mode is not a property of plymouth, the commandline option is
a directive to the display manager itself. The plymouth package
shouldn't know anything about it, and the display manager shouldn't rely
on the plymouth package or this behavio.

From my quick test on 14.04 it is partially fixed. When using the drive
physical button the disc files are no longer shown in Nautilus however a
'CD/DVD Drive' is listed in the sidebar and also an icon is still

Masahiro Sekiguchi, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't
been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an

Happens to me sometimes when powering on from suspend -- any USB device
plugged in will get the following:
usb 5-1: new full-speed USB device number 21 using uhci_hcd
usb 5-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110

As a workaround in Lubuntu and in any release that contains package xterm you
could use lxterm -e command:
E.g.
lxterm -e 'ls | less'
(Quit by pressing q)
lxterm -e 'ls ; read'
(Quit by pressing enter)
As for multiple simultaneous commands as superuser, why not use something like
gksudo lxterm

I guess developers do not care much about this once superb webapp. The
bug still remains unassigned after two months and the webapp has a score
of one single star in the software centre. Come on guys, this is a
