On the assumption that I need to run the

We are trying to install Ubuntu 12.04.3 x64 Alternate (ubuntu-12.04.3
-alternate-amd64.iso) on one IBM machine (IBM System x3100 M4) with 2 x
SATA 1TB WD RE4 booting from an USB drive in UEFI mode. At all steps we
choose the most basic/default options.
At the Partition disks
I'm running into this on 13.04 (upgraded from 12.10). I can boot into
the old 3.5.0 kernel, but 3.8.0 and any newer kernels don't work (and
I've tried an assortment from the mainline ppa).
I've also tried adding all the mentioned modules to /etc/initramfs-
tools/modules, and none of that works
Evince uses libspectre (http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/libspectre/)
as a backend library for postscript rendering.
