Booted old kernel (1.13.0-17), ran about 30 min with no problem. Booted
back to 1.13.0-18 and got same problem in about the same time it took to
fire up firefox. Second error report almost before cancelling the first.
Now it seems to be doing fine typing this and running you tube video.

I've not seen this myself, but when I was submitting fixes for
thermald's upstart config here:
https://github.com/01org/thermal_daemon/pull/8 the maintainer said that
it caused thermald to start before some of the necessary sysfs bits were
available.

Note: The "Recommend ndiswrapper-dkms in Ubuntu builds as well" was made
because it previously was a Suggests in Ubuntu, because the Ubuntu
kernels included a prebuilt ndiswrapper module. This module was
apparently removed some time ago, so installing the ndiswrapper-utils
should now pull in ndiswr
