supporting other archs such as ppc64el and arm64. The ppc64el stuff has
been tested with the local provider and LXC.

matt workaround did work for me though.
When installing backuppc, I got these 3 errors (that looks unrelated, but hey,
who knows):
adduser : Attention ! Le répertoire personnel « /var/lib/backuppc »

All I have no idea what was the update last two days now running the
gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders come back with segmentation fault.
All my gnome based WM can not be used any more. Vmware also failed to
start due to failed to support the png file type.
PLEASE HELP!!

I tihink, I've got the same problem.
Was running Kubuntu 14.04 as of 19th March 2014 and everything worked perfectly.
I then installed audacity to record something but it would only show the Splash
screen and hang there.
After that every program trying to access the soundcard would hang. Even
Problem also present when using Java 8.
My users report this is their number 1 annoyance with our Java
applications.

resolving complex dependencies such as when updating from one release to
the next can take up oodles of RAM. I've seen aptitude go up to 2GB of
RAM on a 2GB RAM and 2GB swap machine but it seems there really is no
boundary. I hope something can be done to prevent such
