pyicu, which is not documented -- it seems that the current trusty
version 1.5-2ubuntu4 does not play nice.

I can setup a ppa if needed. But if you are on trusty or saucy you should just

Since the upgrade to Trusty, this happens to me, too. In my case, this
bug is triggered by all kinds of video files. If I try to close the
window, it just minimized itself to the notification bar (same with
Alt-F4 and Ctrl-Q). I can restore the GUI by double-clicking on the
notification bar icon.
Upgraded my 12.04 to 14.04. I have gnome-screensaver installed, so if I
lock my laptop with Ctrl+Alt+L I unable to switch keyboard layout on the
lockscreen. So the bug is not fixed.

Successfully upgraded my 12.04 to 14.04.
In 12.04 I had Alt+Shift L for layout swithing, so I set this combination on
the first login in 14.04 ('gnome-control-center keyboard' for GNOME FlashBack,
'unity-control-center keyboard') to Alt+Shift L and it works as expected.
So keyboard layout

** Description changed:
When pressing keyboard shourtcut for switching keyboard layout, focus
temporary switches from active text input to something else, then
restores back when releasing keys used to switch. Maybe even active
RavanH, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the
daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will
allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested
the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version
