In this case, it looks like urfkill was not able to Online the modem (
see the last log message output ). The current version of urfkill lacks
any kind of retry logic for the modem.
If you still have the syslog, it would be interesting to see the output
from ofono for the same time-frame.

Update on this post. It seems that the problem is the display driver
choice in the VM settings.
The steps I took in installing were:
Click New VM button in virt-manager
Type in name and select local install media. Press Forward.
Select an ISO image. OS Type Linux. Version Ubuntu 12.04

In my case, touch functionality is fine until i tap desktop's widgets. This
seems to triger the hover pointer instead of pointer with click ability.
