I just had this happen to me with 2.1+dfsg-3ubuntu3 on utopic. I had a
VM I had been using for a days, then did a 'uvt stop -rf ...' followed
by 'uvt update sec-utopic-amd64' and I was dropped to a grub rescue. :\
I'll downgrade again and regenerate the VM.

I tried with a very small image (100x100, 9kB) as Sergio suggested, but
still no luck. I have not been able to collect tcpdump traces yet. I
have noticed that in one of my Android phone I cannot send MMS messages
either, but that I can with another one.

Thanks, I attached the logs you requested. With 1.11.9-0ubuntu1 the
problem presists. I don't know when exactly it started but it happend
relatively recently. It might be a issue with the setup of X done by
lightdm, because when I launch my session via gdm I don't see this
problem.

I found the fwts version is quite old (Results generated by fwts:
Version V0.25.06precise1). Some of the high failures are no longer high.
Please re-run with new version of fwts and I will investigate new log
file.

Yes, I've seen this when I've been testing
1.12.bzr6876+14.10.20140904-0ubuntu1 when it was in silo testing phase.
Monitor-ofono is also pretty clear indicator. If you see ModemAdded
events with empty interfaces for same modems which were alive and well
moment ago it means that they dropped down

Hi,
Just to be sure: does the patch is now landing is an image (I am using mako as
daily purpose, with channel devel on utopic image 203).
If it is suposing to be landed, then I can see this behavior's bug is
