Okay, I have never had to install an upstream kernel before so I hope I am
using the right kernel here. When I enter the terminal command:

Per comment #5 I have added ibus to this bug. ibus maintainers: I have
received this bug against Winff more than once, but this time Doug
figured out the the duplication of input in Winff is solved by
deinstalling ibus. Could you please investigate if this is something
that should be fixed in ibus?
