When I click a link from an email it does not work any more.
Instead of opening the link in a new tab, Firefox opens a new empty
window and does not follow the link.
If I change the default browser for my desktop from Firefox to Chrome,
then Chrome can open the link fine.
Summary: At this point I have a stable desktop where I don't have to
reduce my touch-typing speed by a factor of 20 in order to achieve any
text input at all (which is how it was this morning before disabling
IBUS in my Language Support preferences).

The gdb 7.9 test suite shows a large number of unexpected failures, but
not the same number of them. It's probably safe to assume that this bug
is still present, since from the description it's believed to be a
toolchain issue (specific to Ubuntu gcc-4.9) and not a bug in gdb
