use the video player's native fullscreen option (I sometimes use Flash
Game Maximizer if I'm hooked up to a dual monitor setup, and this

OK, as I read it, pm trace exists. I suspend laptop both by selecting menu
option and closing lid. I resume by opening lid or hitting power button. I
guess you want me to do resume-trace debugging??? I'm sure I could get as
far as dmesg dmesg.txt but beyond that I'm not sure. Please advise.

Just to test this out, I created a 4.7G file of just '\n' and I see

I can reproduce this on Trusty (1.0.1~dfsg1-0ubuntu1~ubuntu0.14.04.1)
but not on my test 1.6.0 package that didn't include the workaround in
Wily. So I presume this is somehow fixed upstream and a patch is no

Just to clarify, the problem with TZ=EDT isn't that it reports EDT
wrong, per se, but that any unrecognized time zones show as UTC. Now,
why TZ=EDT isn't valid when `date` on its own here reports EDT just
fine, is beyond me :)

Confirmed in xfce. But messing around with the font size makes some
things bearable - fonts are not that much affected, but still big parts
of the screen do not refresh properly.
