I see this partially fixed in a silo. One item still ends in an
ellipsis. Shouldn't this be fixed at a toolkit level instead of just
shortening the labels? Otherwise it'll still fail when translated to a
longer string or when run on a different screen size or with a different
font size.

Unfortunately, systemctl restart dbus (which was never supported either)
will now start a second dbus-daemon in parallel with the first

Occasionally when changing Wi-Fi networks the nm-applet icon in the menu
bar will disappear and require a reboot to get back. On previous
releases I could simply killall nm-applet; nm-applet and it would
reappear but that workaround no longer works.

As per my above comment, running those commands did fix the issue. Note:
as I mentioned, you need to install the depends also.. example:
~# sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg unity-control-center xserver-xorg-
video-intel xserver-xorg-core xorg-video-abi-15 libcheese-gtk23
