Actually one more thing to add logging out of the session on the
installed session and logging back in again does apply the dark panel.
This makes me think the bug might be in lxappearnce in applying the
theme to a running session.

I found out that it has nothing to do with whether the second mouse is
connected to the PS/2 port or the serial port.
The mouse jumping also happens when connected to the serial port.

Sometimes resuming needs multiple presses of the power button.
What happens:
1. Press the button once - the screen is off
2. After the 2nd or 3rd press - the screen lights up then goes black again.
3. Pressing the button again results in the expected behaviour eg. screen

When I try to use `look` to binary search through a large file (43G), I
get the error message: `look: sorted.csv: File too large`. On OSX, I am
able to execute the same command on the same file with no problems.
