this was a mistake. I did not intend to create a new bug report.
My IBM T42 Laptop is old and its processor claims to be not pae
compatible. Thats why the kernel update to 3.19.0-39 does not install in
lubuntu 14.04 LTS (32bit).

Yes, I think this is (or at least was) fixed in Xenial. I can't be
certain because I haven't been able to use any iso since the 4.3 series
kernel rolled out and I really need to get a fresh install working at
some point because the testing install I'm using is long in the tooth
and has been

I have a Samsung 850 EVO (500GB) and yesterday my laptop was
unresponsive. I had to do a hard power off.

evidence there is that the two bugs are "tied" in any way. Unless there
is, please avoid spreading discussion of the same bug over multiple bug
reports.)
