mainline builds, and can confirm that the bug

After some searching, it appears that this bug is known in upstream:
the PPA of Cedric is very helpful, but in my opinion it should be the
intention of a LTS to publish the fixed version here, so Canonical
should give 14.04 users a solution

When using gthumb on an Xfce4 desktop environment and selecting "Set as
Background, gthumb claims it has set the wallpaper, but no changes are
made.
One way to set the xfce4 wallpaper is:
xfconf-query -c xfce4-desktop -p /backdrop/screen0/monitor0/image-path -s

- Message about loading initrd image or somesuch.
- Screen goes black.
- Fan goes to full speed.
- HD light lit for about 15 seconds or so, then goes dark.

I stumbled into the typo and I noticed that it has recently fixed into master
branch of modemmanager:

The fix was not backported into 1.4.x stable series so far, so this bug
will be really

Tried to rip one of my (owned) dvd's today but got the libdvdcss erroe.
