On my powermac G5, running Lubuntu 16.04, I downgraded firefox to 45.02, and it
worked again (I'm currently using it). I used:
sudo apt-get install firefox=45.0.2+build1-0ubuntu1

Some selects fail because of MYSQLs "ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY" mode. Think we habe to
add something like
$cnn_id->EXECUTE("SET SESSION sql_mode = (SELECT
REPLACE(@@sql_mode,'ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY', ''))");
to database.php also.

to use. default is pulse before anything else. change it.

It looks like this is intentional:
Preparing to unpack .../mysql-server-5.7_5.7.12-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb ...
Aborting downgrade from (at least) 10.0 to 5.7.
If are sure you want to downgrade to 5.7, remove the file
/var/lib/mysql/debian-*.flag and try installing again.
