rules use the "owner" prefix:
# Allow read access to toplevel $HOME for the user
owner @{HOME}/ r,
# Allow read/write access to all non-hidden files that aren't in ~/snap/
owner @{HOME}/[^s.]** rwk,

** Description changed:
After upgrading (fresh install) from 14.04.5 LTS to 16.04.1 LTS I no
longer have a right or left click functionality with the touchpad.
user@xps15:~$ uname -a
Linux xps15 4.4.0-34-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 27 16:06:39 UTC 2016
x86_64
I built a test kernel with a pick of commit 953dee9. The test kernel can be
downloaded from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1619766/
Can you test this kernel and see if it resolves this bug?
Thanks in advance!

Public bug reported:
When I deliberately disconnect from VPN using Network Indicator > VPN >
Disconnect VPN I see a notification saying "VPN connection failed". But
nothing has failed. Correct wording should be used e.g. "Disconnected
from VPN".
