After upgrading from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04, the screen will stay black
after GRUB (backlight is on) when booting with the new 4.4 kernel
(linux-image-4.4.0-57-generic). Booting with the old 3.14 kernel will
make the screen work again.

Adam, can you confirm what link you have in pre-down? I created a link
in pre-down.d called pre-down pointing to nfs.sh in the higher
directory. When I included this script (on ubuntu 16.04), in systog I
get messages like:
root: ** NetworkManager dispatch script nfs, IF=none

For the upcoming "zesty" release it the canonical way would be:
- become the maintainer for maxima on *debian*
- then request the package to be synchronized with ubuntu.

Using a Samsung M267x 287 series all in one and since the last ubuntu update to
16.10 gscan2pdf only scans one page from the adf. All subsequent pages are
