this with a supported version, either in 16.04 LTS or with the current

work with. I suggest looking through /var/log/ log files for information
that might be relevant, around the time of the errors. This sounds like

automatically. The login password is usually passed through the PAM
stack to the keychain, but because you've selected to bypass the
authentication, the keychain prompts you for the password manually. You

Launching a .desktop file can result in the error message "The was an
error launching the application". Such unhelpful message hiding the
cause of the failure and leaving the user incapable of fixing the it
should not be included in any application ever programmed/released
I am also still getting this error.

On Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with mir, the Thunderbird window is sometimes mostly
blacked out after waking my laptop from sleep.
This happens randomly, and sometimes temporarily corrects itself when
switching applications or virtual desktops, but not very often.

I've also confirmed the bug is present all the way back in
4.4.0-21-generic, and is present in 4.8.0-34-generic from yakkety-
proposed.
