If I do a fresh install on an efi system and use xfs for the root and
boot filesystems, the install will succeed and then on reboot grub will
drop to a grub shell and fail to boot. If I try to do an ls on any of
the xfs filesystems, grub reports unsupported filesystem.

I also have this issue on 16.04. I can restart plasmashell, but this
only fixes the issue for a few hours, not good when I usually leave my
machine running for week on end.

thing is that after upgrading two laptops to 16.10, one laptop started
showing this error right away while the other did not. But now, about
two months later, the second laptop has started too. A setting (like

Ahh, I see where the kteam tools stuff is supposed to come from.
It's not clear if I'm supposed to go down that route and use the
mainline-build-one script or not when trying to build the kernel in this

wouldn't be possible for you to set a single category to a Spanish
locale. (The locale must be generated first, of course.)

I'll get started on it. This might take a while to do.
A couple of quick observations:
1) we haven't validated that mainline 4.4.0 actually works. I only know
certain Ubuntu versions of the 4.4.0 kernel work. Given how much seems
to be changing between Ubuntu releases of it, that seems a risky

I have run dmesg > ~/dmesg and will be attaching the output.
The mouse was disconnected and connected to a different USB port with no
difference.
I am running a separate computer with the same version and patching and
the issue does not occur on that PC.
