I've uploaded a cloud-init test package to a ppa; you can test that
this update fixes the ntp issue on an existing node.
On an affected node:
1. sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:raharper/bugfixes

OP here. This bug still exists. A very partial workaround is to use
PulseAudio Equalizer. Zero out the first three channels (50, 100, 156
Hz) and the highest one (20 KHz) because the speakers cannot make them

Are you able to get any versions of Ubuntu to install on the system?
Maybe you could install Ubuntu on another disk, but still have the SSD
drives installed. That will allow us to test various kernels and/or
patches to try and get the SSD to be recognized.

Re @tdonohue post #7, I followed the path of adding symlinks to
/usr/share/tomcat7
In addition to creating these symlinks in /usr/share/tomcat7
sudo ln -s /var/lib/tomcat7/common/ common
sudo ln -s /var/lib/tomcat7/server/ server
sudo ln -s /var/lib/tomcat7/shared/ shared
I also needed to create

Grub installs to /dev/sda by default because that is normally where the
bios will boot from. Your /dev/sda is not partitioned, and so grub can
not be installed there. Either partition this drive, or install grub to
another drive and make sure your bios is configured to boot from that
drive.
