I did some further checks and think the fix is fine.
Yet given the details as Dave outlined above it will be next-to-impossible to

Suddenly found that gedit is too buggy. Trying to fix typos on 2-3 words
back, I try to move cursor position to necessary place and edit the
text. After I return cursor to the end of the text to continue typing,
gedit corrupts text disordering all newly entere

I've a dual monitor setup and I'm running latest version of kubuntu.
After a few days of uptime the desktop becomes so slow that I've to
reboot it.
In the log I find those errors, I don't know if they are related:

When running multiple processes with the `caffeinate` command, the
computer suspends already after the first command completes, not after
the last. As a result, when waking up the computer again, the other
processes have not yet completed and need (again) more hours to finish.
Looks like an HTTP request issued to youtube to get the subscribe id for a
video times out.
I’m not familiar with that code, just had a quick look at it. This is the
authenticated code path. When not logged in to youtube, a different code path
is used. Can you try logging out from the scope, and
I only get a message saying "No additional information collected".
