Hi,
I tried to reproduce (thanks for the detailed steps), but there seems to be a
bit missing.
Obviously with handler set to files it is working.
When switching to memcache as instructed I get:
PHP Warning: session_start(): Cannot find save handler 'memcache' - session
startup failed in
While reported on the Yakkety Version there are also 208 hits on that
with the version in Xenial.

for what I see in the logs you are trying to install mysql AND mariadb on one

They are mutually exclusive as they provide the same service but with different

Are you sure you have the gstreamer plugins installed for your gstreamer
version? Since you need the 1.x versions, make sure your plugins are also for
that version, the 0.10.x versions will not work.
FWIW: this is not an Amarok bug, but an installation mismatch of the gstreamer
plugins.

Kernel from 16.04 is now booting again after using old kernel to remove
the intel-microcode package then booting into the new kernel again.
** Summary changed:

intel-microcode

There is also two other patches that are needed:
- e7478dfc4656 ipv6: use addrconf_get_prefix_route() to remove peer addr
- 8e3d5be73681 ipv6: Avoid double dst_free

It appears to be a kernel issue as the system now boots when booting the
previous 14.04 kernel from before the upgrade, but hangs when booting
the 16.04 kernel with flashing capslock LED again, kind of like
