A baseline test I did was to update both a VM with a fresh install of
Ubuntu 16.04 and my laptop where I upgraded from 14.04 to 16.04. With
both systems up to date (March 25th, 2017) I tried to install the the
latest Nvidia 375 drivers. It installed on the VM (though it is kind of

Below is a section of the dpkg.log. I noticed that the installation is
talking about using linux-image-4.4.0-66-generic:amd64 4.4.0-66.87 and
linux-image-generic:amd64 4.4.0.66.70. But they aren't the
4.8.0-41-generic kernel that came with Ubuntu. Is this conflict

Same thing for me. Borders all pixely and crappy after resume from
suspend. CompizConfig disabling "Fading Windows" in Effects fixed it for
me. Thanks for the suggestion to disable effects. Screenshot of ugly

I've just done a fresh install today of 16.04.2 which has network
manager version 1.2.2. Once the updates are completed the network
manager has been upgraded to version 1.2.6. I can confirm that the
"Connect" button when trying to connect to a Hidden Wireless network so
no longer greyed out & the

I have been trying to install the default nvidia 375.39 driver that is
provided in the latest Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS iso for a few days. The
installed Ubuntu 16.04 is EFI booted from a M.2 NVME BPX SSD attached to
a ASUS Z170M-Plus mob.
$ uname -r returns
In Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety crashes with standard user, but runs with root.

4.6.4 to 4.8.0-32 i started having this exact same problem. I'm on a
