Sorry Robie but you are still wrong. It is a bug but mostly because mysql
is more the problem and not Ubuntu. Changing databases does fix the bug.
Changing ubuntu doesn't make the bug go away.

After two days of testing, I am happy to report that the upstream rc7
version indeed fixes the freezing issue. It still hangs up on
suspend/resume, but that's likely unrelated. As I am now using the
upstream kernel I'm not sure whether I should report that as ubuntu bug.

I'm really really hoping for someone more qualified to pop up (since I

I maintain the taskbar in KDE's Plasma 5. We have the same problem that
Gnome Shell and Unity do. Is there any chance we can get wine to set
StartupWMClass in the .desktop files it generates to the executable name
it sets in WM_CLASS so we can match without unreliable hackery?
