After recreating links in "/" to images in /boot (which I had removed
earlier) lilo ran without complaint.

Yes, James Page. After a lot of search, I could bypass the error by
issuing configure alternatives and selecting python2 as the primary
python engine.
I had this error either with fresh install or long term install of
Ubuntu Server and Ubuntu Desktop. I was installing Django Geoserver.
Although
I've also had a crash in this function.
I rebooted to finish installing 17.04, my Google calendars showed up in
Evolution but not GNOME Shell or GNOME Calendar. When I tried to add an
event, GNOME calendar crashed.
The event was successfully added to Google Calendar.

Since upgrade to Ubuntu 17.10 with the default gnome shell desktop:
1. terminator doesn't appear in the menu (hit windows key, type terminator,
nothing);
2. if you manage to launch it from another terminal, and add it to favourites
in the Dock, still when activating the Doc
This issue is also preventing me from using paid snap applications (Hiri
for access to email for work) so it is rather urgent. Any other
information I can provide for this?
