I cannot run my pc in Ubuntu. Grub2 is not getting installed. Every time
I try to install Ubuntu 18.04 LTS it is getting stuck in Grub2
installation phase and showing error.

Rik, thanks for your debdiff. I uploaded it to cosmic so we can unblock
these transitions.
It still would be interesting to get answers to the two questions about
ilmbase maintainership in Ubuntu and whether symbols files are mandatory
for C++ libraries in main, but let's not block things for that
The graphical display failed to boot on laptop. The same system Ubuntu
18.04 works on the desktop.
