After upgrading from 16.04 to 18.04 synaptic failed to start. I get it
to work from the command line with xhost + and sudo, but pkexec fails.
It only shows the build in commandline authentication, but that fails
obviously because of it is not a registered agent for polkit.
Nope, this workaround does not work either. Installed on another
computer successfully (almost), but does not boot on mine. Forever black
screen.

But usually the only reasonable way out is to re-install all of said package as
described in [1].
Also I wonder seeing python being unable to run at all it seems, if

Allow me to rephrase my bug report.
I NEVER want to boot in BIOS mode. But the installer includes 1 MB
bios_grub partition anyway. The bug is that it also creates a second (2)
1 MB partition with absolutely no use.

modified.conffile..etc.libvirt.libvirtd.conf: [deleted]
DPKG/Apt can't differentiate if you wanted this as a configuration of

1. I'm able to reproduce the reported error in a Container (needs ssh -XY
obviously)
2. I did some cleanup on the patch (headers) which was otherwise good
3. a further small cleanup on the version number to match the needs for an SRU
[1]
4. I built it in a ppa [2] and tested it successfully
This annoying bug can be bybassed by using command line interface of
network manager nmcli or another graphical tool like nm-connection-
editor (xfce desktop) to configure your network.

I have an ext4 partition (/dev/sda6) mounted to /tmp at boot time via
/etc/fstab. If I try to perform fsck and therefore umount it after
stopping all processes which have open files on /tmp, I always get the
error
/dev/sda6 is in use.
e2fsck: Cannot continue, aborting.

“The ‘grub-efi-amd64-signed’ package failed to install into /target/ . Without
the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot.
My computer is old, my bios is very simple and has no option to choose
anything mentioning UEFI,

I am having this problem. It started... yesterday? I just created a
completely new, blank browser profile, and it literally cant start due
to gnome-keyring "stuff".
its ransacking my machine.
I cant... believe this has been going on for years. I write code all
day, and the sheer level of *work*

mugshot crashed
This bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tracker/+bug/1545924
should be addressed first before tracker is installed by default. Or is
it already? (this is a duplicate bug, but the original is private for
whatever reasons) For me this bug happens on multiple machines, at every
login.
