Updates on the above. I have not found where BDSword's suggestion for
(in comment #31) changing that 200 value in the g_timeout line goes --
it doesn't appear to be a clear text file.
Did find using the Metacity option does not have the pink overlay option
like the Compiz option does,
The following are the solutions that I have already tried.
1. Installing the Nvidia drivers didn't solve the problem, the laptop
was heating up & shutting down, so I switched back to the original
xserver nouveau drivers by running sudo apt-purge nvidia*

reasonable and doable, openssh-server should just move to livecd-rootfs

Intel released the 6.01 Firmware for the Intel XL710 network cards. As
stated in the feature support matrix [1] in the table 9 on page 18, the
minimum kernel driver version for the 6.01 Firmware i40e must be 2.1.26,

Trying to install 64bit 18.04 on another micro sd card on Micromax
Canvas Laptab LT777W by booting it using 64bit 18.04LTS and by putting
the 'bootia32.efi' file to /boot/efi folder.

Yes, this is known, Ubuntu Desktop requires at least 1.5G of memory to
be installed in a VM. There used to be a resource checking page in the
installer that has been removed a while ago.
