As a work around, I notice that Freemind is made available via a snap
package in the GNOME Software center.
I installed freemind with this command:
snap install freemind
It launched a little slow, but came up, I was able to open the mind map

duplicity/deja-dup is done upstream. heartbeat is not needed with
pacemaker v2 stack. And etckeeper is trivial to port.
