Indeed, the Debian maintainer (Jérémy Lal) told me he is in the process
of removing libv8-3.14 entirely as well, but they need to deal with the
last reverse dependency (uwsgi-plugin-v8).
But for them it's less of an urgent issue because they have already
removed it from stable branches

Thanks Paolo - I can confirm the pre-cooked image displays the boot logo
nicely (couldn't test the snap itself, but I suspect that's due to me
lacking the correction snap incantations rather than anything wrong with
it - snap complained about replacing a signed kernel with an unasserted
one).

This no longer seems to be a problem with Slack 4.0.0, recently released
and available via Snap. I modified the gist to only set an icon, which
it is still missing, and updated it to work with the new window manager
class and icon path.

In WSL the default simple init system does not allow rebooting.
To avoid confusing users it would be better to show a message fitting WSL
rather than offering to reboot then failing and showing technical details.
