Ah ha! This is a bug, but it gets resolved after a laptop suspend-resume
cycle. That is, the touchpad is not detected after a reboot. However, it
is detected after the next suspend-resume.

I was running ADT tests and the machine hung/rebooted. I was unable to
log in. After I rebooted the machine with the ipmi tool the machine

What I see is that all but two Kernel configuration items are the same across
