That's exactly what --width is for. As noted in its documentation. You
either specify it, or if you dont then it will use screen size. So if
you want to pipe, use --width=whatever you like.
And as I stated at the start, if you want to use calibredb for data
processing use --for-machine. Widths

Xfce and Mate are great Desktops also on ubuntu. If i had the money i would
support both desktops with donations.

For what it's worth, this doesn't just affect the X710-TM4 controller.
The X710-T2L card is rendered completely useless by this bug as that
card only has copper 10 GbE ports. As with the X710-TM4, the latest
version of the Intel driver fixes the issue.

Thanks for responding.
Some delays in responding because of client demands, then because the
storage configuration of the machine was incomplete and the debug files
couldn't be networked, then because the incessant gnome-session hangs
required a hard-reset at nearly every step along the way.
