Happens to me with dual monitor setup on 20.10. Both monitors are
connected to the same graphics card. Like some people noted, one monitor
takes a little longer to wake up, which might cause the issue.

Sorry, I don't have a complete syslog, it is the only saved part from
live-cd install. However, I believe it should contain everything related
to the issue: I've cleared the log before running the install step that
failed.

During installation of 11.04, over old system I had, the isntall failed every
time with user-visible error ubi-partman failed with exit code 141 before
showing partitioning options. The last line in the syslog is:

I have the same problem while trying to install 11.04 on my desktop (the
partitions are already there, from old Ubuntu 8 installation). During the first
step of the install, after clicking forward on screen with disk size and web
connection confirmation, I get an error ubi-partman failed with

With 7.10 and Dell Inspiron 6400(1505) the light goes off as soon as lid is
closed, but after half second turns on whenever the mouse is moved or not.
Killing gnome-power-manager results an even stranger behaviour: the lights go
off, than turns on for a brief period than turned off again. But
I confirm: on Dell Inspiron 6400 with 7.04 fresh installed SD card works
ok, but XD doesn't.
