I ran across this when testing Ubuntu 24.04 Noble Numbat on an AWS
instance without a public IPv4 address.
Ubuntu 24.04 Noble Numbat does not have the awscli package that Ubuntu
22.04 Jammy Jellyfish and earlier versions of Ubuntu had. Ubuntu 24.04
Noble Numbat instead supplies a snap aws-cli
Using Kubuntu 22.04, and this bug is present. The temporary workaround
given above has the wrong directory for the symlink. It should be
/usr/share/sddm/themes/ubuntu-theme

Looking at DpkgTerminalLog.txt, I believe the failure here was when the
firefox deb helper tried to install the firefox snap, and failed when
trying to connect to the snap store. Unfortunately there may not be much
we can do here except suggest trying with a different network
connectivity
