I dont understand well the flow how you upstream this patches into LTS
kernels (like 4.14, 4.9, etc).
I checked on Torvald's git repository and 4.14.14 still doesnt have this
patch.
So I applied the patch mentioned by Joseph by myself and rebuilt the

I use OSS4, because Pulseaudio does not work well with Intel sound card ICH8,
so I dont have pulseaudio and alsa and instead OSS 4, and this problem appears
because it seems it does not find ALSA /dev/snd device, please if you can help

First, the new suspend/resume option is great in Karmic, but it crashed
today, I just installed system 3 days ago, I use Ubuntu Karmic Koala

I sincerely dont know why these bug is being completely and
systematically ignored by bug trackers in Ubuntu. It is pretty annoying
bug. Hardy has it, Intrepid much much better, Jaunty has it again. Can
somebody has mercy and backport it to Hardy?

Can somebody please fix this problem in the PPA port for Hardy, please.
We run our servers in Hardy and we would not want to upgrade system to
Intrepid. Hardy is a LTTS.
We are experiencing exactly same problem described here.

Fixed, I switched to OSS4, and I dont have any word, it is so awesome,
sorry guys, but it is much superior than Pulseaudio and Alsa, I just can
play sounds and it does not have any trouble and even Skype, works out
of the box (static OSS version).

Backported to Hardy this is a great problem I am trying to install
Ubuntu Hardy (because it is LONG TIME SUPPORT) and in all machines with
Intel sound cards there is this problem, everything else works great,
and I am trying to promote Ubuntu as much as possible between my

for Ubuntu users, I am user of Hardy and I try to promote its usage in
several friends laptops, but most of them are having this problem.
I dont think this should be considered a low importance bug.
