I have the same problem in a Dell XPS15 L502X system. What I found is
that after installing via Additional drivers the the module is not
loaded neither found in the system with modprobe

I have tha same problem, the front mic works (if I plug a mic in it of course)
but the built-in mic doesn't work. I have an old Dell Inspiron 1526 running
Kubunt 9.10 Karmic Koala. I have just updated pulseaudio, and l-b-m-a-k-g but

installation of Ubuntu didn't installed the Hardware Controllers
Application. Once I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.27-11 the wl module was
not recognized (authorized) any more. To enable the BCM4312 wireless
