Problem: every battery recharge cycle managed by gnome and/or pbbuttons
ends up shortening the battery total charge, by a considerable amount.
After 2 days and 6 charges, the battery claims to last, when full, for

out of battery and crashed. On reboot, bonobo would refuse to work, printing in

matter what, even when the network has no printers. For a laptop, that's
a big battery leak.

Update on the above: after about 15 minutes (I was reading a PDF), all
applications I had tried to launch before suddenly launched. There is
*whatever* stopping them all from launching (happened both times yesterday as

I find out this is a different kind of bug. Apparently the kmail package
does not depend on the kdebase-kio-plugins package, and thus it can only
read imap mails, not pop mails, unless such kio package is installed
separately.

I have no idea. My system is heavily customized at the moment to avoid
all these pitfalls. Since I need it everyday for work unfortunately I
cannot test this. Currently my cron entry for updatedb is commented out.

More on the issue: as of today, every time the computer is rebooted one
has to manually
$ rm -rf ~/.gtk*
for firefox not to hang. The crashs is so bad the entire Xorg goes crazy
(in mmeory and chip usage) and one has to control+alt+F2 and login from
a tty and killall -KILL firefox-bin .
Except
Ooops sorry about that. Some linux image update at some point fixed the
issue. Works fine with dapper.

I have this bug too. Dapper updated to latest. This is how I can
reproduce it:
- set kmail to check email every 10 minutes
- leave it open for a while (20-30 minutes)
- put the powerbook to sleep
- wake up the powerbook: kmail is stuck checking the deleted messages folder
of my IMAP accounts

this, since there is a problem with synchronization and suspending to
RAM.

IMAP connections sometimes break and kmail must be closed to fix
The problem right above was solved by removing the ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file
from my home folder.

Yes, removing ~/.gtkrc-2.0 out of the way let me launch firefox
(finally!) without problems. I didn't need to remove any of the other
.gtkrc* files.

I can confirm this disaster. I've apt-get ubuntu-desktop on a kubuntu
powerpc dapper installation. After using evolution for 2 days, now it
crashes at startup and there's no obvious thing I can do to stop it.
After attempting to start evolution about 10 times, then no other app

A slave hard drive (hdb) contains a folder. Open nautilus and try to
send the folder to the trash. The folder gets deleted, but nautilus
crashes AND THE TRASH IS EMPTY, meaning the folder is lost in
hyperspace.

I've checked the screen resolution of the tty and in an xterm with fbset
and both are equal. hwinfo --framebuffer doesn't print anything.
I am puzzled! Something is really wrong, but I remain clueless.
