I can confirm that to some extent. When a PPTP connection is
established, /etc/resolv.conf is wiped clean (with both Use peer DNS
set and not set) and restored when I disconnect. My /etc/hosts is OK
though.

Happens when playing a streamtracker module in gstreamer-based players
(Rhythmbox 0.10.0 and Songbird 0.2.5), so I fugured it is gstreamer.
A streamtracker module contains another song after the loop.
If you start playing, the time will advance faster than it is supposed to
